Portage Produce is an urban orchard focused on growing less-common tree fruits with a focus on native trees such as persimmons and pawpaws. The orchard is not certified organic, but by using disease and pest resistant trees we are able to generally follow organic practices.
To help control the rodent population, we use raptor perches and have installed nest boxes for owls and kestrels throughout the orchard.
